Happy Father’s Day from Maggie Sottero! Today, we want to honor all fathers of the bride! The father of the bride is a cherished role in a bride’s journey. For #MaggieBride Megan,\u00a0her father played an especially important role. Megan’s mother passed away 10 years ago, so she knew when the day came to shop for her wedding dress, it just wasn’t going to be the same. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wedding Dress Shopping With the Father of the Bride<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

She had searched for a few months with friends and family, but hadn’t been able to find her dream wedding dress. While visiting her home town in Iowa, her dad suggested they try one more store. Keep scrolling to read their heartwarming story!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Dad and I walked into the boutique during his lunch break. We were the only ones in the store, surrounded by\u00a0satin, taffeta and rhinestones. Dad is built like a football player, so even if I didn’t end up finding a wedding dress, I knew this was going to make for a good story to share. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I laughed as I watched Dad flip through the racks of dresses, headpieces, and shoes. I set my overflowing wedding binder on the counter and flipped through the sea of clipped magazine pages and explained, ‘I’m looking for something couture…and big… and breathtaking!’ To my surprise, the stylist said they had just the wedding dress and that it had only arrived earlier that week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After changing into the wedding gown, I asked Dad if he was ready to see the dress. As I came out of the dressing room, my father’s eyes filled with tears, and he nodded his head yes. I balanced on my tip toes, swooshing the wedding dress around. We had found ‘the dress’ and both could feel Mom was with us. It was such a special moment to share together!” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The dress I chose was Carissa by Maggie Sottero, which was a gorgeous strapless ball gown wedding dress. My favorite part of the dress was the tulle!\u00a0Layers and layers of tulle made me feel like I was wearing a piece of art. The ball gown wedding dress was the perfect pairing of\u00a0couture\u00a0and classic styling.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My favorite moment from that day was our first look. I’ll never forget my first look with Mike. My heart pounded out of my chest with each step I took towards him. When I said he could turn around to see me, I became overwhelmed with happiness. Tears streamed down my face, and I knew at that moment it was going to be the best day.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My advice for future brides is to not sweat the small stuff. Plan, organize, and check off your to-do list in your tabbed binder to your heart’s content, but remember that when your special day arrives, your number one priority is to relax, enjoy, and have fun!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
