Stefanie Bobrick - Owen, Maggie Bride
When I was a child I dreamed of my wedding day like many other little girls. The music, the dancing, joyful relatives and friends, the big beautiful dress that would transform me into a princess. Unlike other little girls the beautiful wedding dress in my romantic vision was bright red. When it came time for me to (finally) tie the knot, the one thing I knew was that I wanted a sparkly red wedding dress. I picked up a catalogue and there it was, Lana in red exactly as I had envisioned it.
My husband is a bit of a history buff and found a dress he wanted me to wear at a local shop that was done in a renaissance style. I agreed to wear the dress he liked. We only had a few months before our wedding so we paid for special rush delivery charges so we would get the dress on time. The local shop gave me a date to pick up my dress just four weeks before my wedding. Yikes!
That delivery date came and went and we never heard from the shop. We called and they changed the date to a week later. We called again when that date came and again they pushed back the date. We called again and were told that the dress was made but was sent to a store that burned down and was refused and went back to the shipper. They gave us a tracking number that didn’t work and then when we called back and told them the number was wrong they had a story for that too. We knew we were in big trouble. By this time the wedding was a few days away! What was I going to do! Where would I get my wedding dress at this late date! Especially a red one!
My husband and I went into Camarillo Bridal and told them our sad story. They called a Maggie Sottero retailer in New York and told them what happened and miraculously they had a Lana, in red, in my size! Amazing! But we were not sure if we could cancel the other dress. The kind people at Maggie Sottero offered to put a hold on the dress while we straightened out our situation. After we canceled the other dress the gown was sent overnight. We received it on Thursday and I was to be married on Saturday. There was no extra charge whatsoever. Because of its two piece design it fit so well it needed only a little alteration. I was so happy! I was married in the dress I had always dreamed of. It was exactly what I wanted.
Thank you to everyone at Maggie Sottero for saving our wedding at the very last minute! You went out of your way to help us and were so kind and the dress was spectacular. I will recommend your company to anyone who needs a wedding dress.
(A note from Maggie Sottero: Unfortunately this bride's dress, Lana, has been discontinued. However, if you like the bright red color of this dress, we recommend Fiorenza.)
