Being the first of three sisters to get married, the dress hunting adventure was quite exciting. I spent two entire days over Thanksgiving weekend dress shopping with my mom, sisters and mother-in-law to be, who are all from out of town. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, but I was drawn to several Maggie Sottero dresses. The designs are beautiful. At our final store of the weekend, I ended up trying on the Adelaide dress in a size about 2x larger than what I needed. The dress was so heavy that I discounted it, even though I thought it was very pretty. We didn't find a dress that weekend so I kept looking with friends.
I ended up seeing the dress again in a different color at another store without even realizing it was the same model. I tried it on in a size that was closer to my own and really loved it. I sent a photo to my mom and told her it was "the dress" since she wasn't able to be there to see it in person. She was so excited and then revealed that it was the one she loved the best from the first shopping trip, but wasn't going to tell me unless I chose it. I ended up with the dress and couldn't have made a better choice. It fit perfectly and I received lots of compliments at the wedding.
My husband has quite good taste for a man. I didn't give him any hints about the dress ahead of time and when we did our "first look" on the wedding day, he said it was perfect. I knew it was and was delighted when he found it to be just as beautiful as I did!
