Angie Edmonds, Maggie Bride
In the beginning, I had no idea what I was looking for in a wedding gown. The first time I went to a boutique to try on dresses, I ended up trying on a lot of gowns that were relatively simple in detail and style - that was kind of uncommon for me. All my friends know me to be more of the "princess" type and I tend to be attracted to sparkly things. So why was I picking out dresses that weren't really "me"? I was utterly lost. I thought that all the dresses I had tried on were perfectly beautiful, but none of them called out to me. I didn't realize it at the time, but I wasn't falling in love with any of the dresses because I wasn't trying on any dresses that had more detail such as lace or sequins - which I unknowingly wanted.
My second (and final) time going dress shopping started out with more of the same. I was still trying out dresses that were relative simple and lacking all the glitz and glam. I was getting a better idea of what I wanted though and was going to settle on a dress that I would have had to make a lot of alterations to in order to fit what I wanted it to be. It would have been as close to what I wanted, but would have had to pay a hefty price to get it.
In the end, the Vienna was picked out for me by my fitting attendant. After looking at all the dresses I had tried on and by narrowing down the different aspects that I had voiced that I liked, my attendant asked if she could show me one more dress before deciding on the dress that would need a lot of custom alterations. She brought out the Vienna and it was everything I had wanted in my wedding gown: Clean line against the chest (the bust line was a gentle scoop), had the right amount of sequins and sparkle, the lace overlay added a delicate touch, and the corset back would allow me more flexibility as far as weight was concerned. It was beautiful and perfect. I'm so glad that the Vienna was my wedding dress!
